I will admit, I have earned a reputation of being an asshole. I have done this through daily doses of smart ass remarks and over-the-top sarcasm. While I find it very funny in my own personal view, I have recently noticed its effect on my social reputation. Many of the people I have unintentionally offended and pushed way to far have let me know, and have opened my eyes to the horrible ways in which I treat them. My sarcasm was childish and uncalled for, so I don't expect a turn around to be easy, or even practical. There is a good chance I have lost friendships through my own immaturities. I have recently rejoined the world of the 20 somethings. No more friday night stand up, while it is still my favorite show. I have yet to get in a club lifestyle, because I don't think I need to be that involved, but I have focused on the more important things. Friends are all we have, all we can count on.

I love life. I enjoy looking for the stories in my everyday life and enjoying the people I'm with. I spend most of my days surrounded by kids...not mine (don't have any)...and I love it. They make me feel needed and worthwhile in a way that few people do. I like to spend time reading, with friends, and family.

I am worn down by always being the one in control, and would like for once for someone else to take the reins and help me to find pleasure by giving them pleasure. OK where do i start?? I'm 6'1, 195lbs, and work with my roommate doing Heating and Cooling among other things in Cedar Rapids. i like takin a trip down to the gun range every once and a while. that way im not rusty when the zombie apocalypse hits.

i like cold weather. i dont last long in the sun, fricken red hair, but i like it. i went to college in the middle of the upper peninsula of michigan so that worked out nice. iowa is too warm for me, at least in summer.

i enjoy a nice smoke once and a while, mostly hookah. occasionally i'll throw in a clove or a cigar. still cant believe i cant buy cloves anymore. lame.

i love hockey. i havent watched alot lately having canceled my cable.

i probably drink more water in a day then you do in a week. cant get enough of that stuff.

I am 29 years old, i enjoy being with friends and family making friends and meeting new people. I have lived in Cedar rapids/Marion and if i could be anywhere it would be in Sedona, Arizona. I have owned a home, but i enjoy living in an apartment or condominium on the top floor if i had a choice but its not a mandatory thing. I have always wanted to live in a big city but have reservations about whether or not i would really like it. I like to dance, i like to go to movies, i like to go out to eat, i enjoy going shopping.. but like being a part of the fun.. not just watching. I love to write poetry when i am inspired with something and like just writing on the fly as it happens.

Motorcycles are a big love of mine, I feel that they give a person a personal freedom that is granted by few other things in life. I also find comfort in my family and books. I am also part of a poly-family, that means there my has a boyfriend and that he lives with us. We also have a daughter that I just adore. Otherwise I escape from reality with computer games and tabletop role-playing games. I also love getting to know new people, even though I tend to be pretty shy in the beginning. After I get more comfortable I tend to let my conversations roam, and enjoy each discussion as a chance to learn from people. Everyone loves to talk about themselves. The reason we ask questions like "how was your day?" is simply in hopes the person will in turn ask us the same. Even if all we have to relate is a simple "same old same old".
So I'm going to go on a rant and talk about myself for as long as the words flow from my brain to my fingers.

I'm very confident about who I am. But I don't have a lot of confidence in how others perceive me. I often feel like people don't get a chance to see what's behind the silence. I know that doesn't make me look all that appealing. But it's a forewarning I guess. I am most in my element when I am surrounded by good friends, people I trust and am not afraid to express myself to.
I guess what I'm getting to is that I really only speak when I have something to say. If you ask me a simple question you will get a simple answer (this is where the smart-mouthed sarcastic side comes out).
However if you ask me something deeper you may end up with more then you bargained for. Unless it's feelings related then you get a lot of "i don't know's". I have a really hard time vocalizing my feelings either because I'm unsure of how I actually feel or I'm unsure of the reaction I'll get from my response.
I am a very accepting person. I tend to side on both sides of an argument. I have a hard time dealing with people who are closed-minded. Everything is gray.

I'm on here to help some people out. Here are some of my pointers. List will constantly be under construction...

Pictures 1. Make sure your pictures are of good quality and not pixely. 2. Make sure you can actually see your face in them! 3. Not necessary but a full body shot would be nice. 4. Great to show pictures of you with your hobbies. 5. The more pictures the better...the better people can get a sense who you are. 6. Don't be soo serious in your pictures. Smile, laugh and look like you know how to have a good time!

Content (Your profile) 1. Again, the more you add to your profile the more people get a better idea about you. 2. I would not advise you to put your address or phone numbers out there. 3. Probably a good idea to capitalize and use good grammar. 4. I know there isn't a box for it, but it would be cool to add what you are looking for in another person. 5. Add your unique details. It's a way to show how different you are from other potentials and not just another cookie cutter mold. 6. If you have a sense of humor-show it in your profile! Most people are attracted to people with a sense of humor...therefore more likely to capture their attention. I have read some peoples profiles and they don't give as much details but it was infused with their commentaries that kept me fairly amused and kept me reading.

Other: 1. Be sure to update your profile. I have seen many profiles that were filled out years prior. You change and grow (hopefully) in a years time, so make sure you are up to date.

Whatever you are own it! If you are a jock, nerd, gamer, student, outdoorsy, homebody, etc then play it up! You are more likely to find someone in common when you put it out there. Don't be ashamed of who you are...that is what makes you unique and real. The more you put yourself out there..then the more likely you will be getting results you'd like.

I am a 28 year old working professional. I am looking to branch out and meet new people. I frankly don't like this whole internet social networking thing, however I have come to grips with it as it a part of this brave new world we live in. But lets see what happens.....right?!?

Honestly, I'm a bit of a contradiction...half redneck, half technophile...half red-blooded American male, half otaku...half metalhead, half country twang...hmmm...I think that may be too many halves, but you get the idea.
