Johnson Elementary School Reviews

My family moved into Cedar Rapids and the Johnson School area last summer. We were concerned that the local schools wouldn't be able to help our son with special needs. We couldn't have been more wrong. The school bent over backwards to provide a program for our son that has been consistently implemented all year long. We've been thrilled with our sons progress. Johnson is a magnet school for the arts, and its very neat to see what our son can produce, but theres a strong focus on the fundamentals as well. We are very happy with Johnson!

The teachers at Johnson are wonderful. My son's teacher actually asked if we minded her spending extra time with him, because she felt he was bored with the first grade curriculum and she wanted to work on more advanced things with him! We have nothing but good to say about Johnson - the teachers are committed to actually teaching, not just training kids to pass a test. If we were to move out of the district we'd open enroll to keep our kids there.

Very good school for incorporating the arts into every day learning. A very well diversitfied school with very caring teachers and staff. Dispite the fact that majority of the students are in the low income bracket that doesn't reflect or impact on this schools quality.

My daughter started 1st grade way behind her class. Now she is almost caught up, all thanks to the wonderful teachers and staff. In this time and age, we need teachers who care about our children, and the teachers at Johnson have certainly proved to me that they really do care. I can't thank them enough for all their effert and energy they keep giving my daughter. Thanks to all the teachers at Johnson.
