The room was built in 1914 to keep quiet. We have other plans.

On the last Friday of every month, The Ideal Theater & Bar turns its old silent-film house into the one floor in Cedar Rapids tuned to move you, house opening into bass, riddim, and techno, a sound system pushed to rattle your ribs and cut the highs clean, in a room small enough that the whole floor moves as one. Every subgenre has a place, every body has a space, and it runs 21 and up by design, a curated floor and not a college bar. No screens, craft cocktails in hand, nothing between you and the beat until last call.
