Introducing Hello Cedar Rapids: Cedar Rapids Tourism launches new brand to build on destination's momentum
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for tourism in Cedar Rapids with the launch of Hello Cedar Rapids, the new brand identity for the Cedar Rapids Tourism Office.
The new brand, developed through a comprehensive strategic process, positions Cedar Rapids to compete more effectively for visitors, meetings, conventions, and sporting events. It reflects not only the destination's momentum, but also the opportunity to grow tourism and increase economic impact for local businesses and the broader community.
"Hello Cedar Rapids is the result of a thoughtful, research-driven process," said Emily Kleitsch, director of marketing at Hello Cedar Rapids. "Working alongside Strategic America, we gathered input from travelers, community stakeholders, and industry partners to develop a brand that authentically represents our destination. It gives us a stronger platform to tell our story and support the continued growth of the visitor economy."
Today's travelers have more choices than ever, and destinations must clearly communicate not only what they offer, but why they matter. Every visitor who chooses Cedar Rapids contributes to the local economy, supporting hotels, restaurants, attractions, retailers, and the hospitality industry. A strong destination brand plays a critical role in attracting visitors and ensuring Cedar Rapids remains competitive.
"Hello isn't just a greeting here; it's how we invite you in," said Julie Stow, executive director of Hello Cedar Rapids. "It reflects our welcoming community and our belief that every visit begins with an invitation to experience what makes this destination unique."
The launch includes a new organization name, logo, visual identity and messaging, creating a stronger and more authentic way to tell the Cedar Rapids story to visitors, meeting planners, sporting event organizers, and group tour operators. While the organization's look has changed, its mission remains the same: to attract visitors, generate economic impact, and support the businesses and partners that make Cedar Rapids a vibrant destination.
"We’re the same team with the same mission," said Stow. "Now we have a brand that reflects the momentum in Cedar Rapids, elevates our story and drives meaningful growth for the community.”
